A few weeks ago I completed my first project for third year spec animation this is one of the Animations I completed for the project. The brief was to animate a Ball with legs walking to a scene in one mood and leaving in another showing a reaction between the transitions this is what I came up with – initial walk contact positions, there is no straight leg so seems a bit odd.
Some more exercises I worked on over summer, Really enjoyed learning Maya it’s a great piece of software works wonderfully for animation and these few animation exercises just aided the learning process to prep my knowledge of the software and to give me a head start when going back for my final uni year.
Another walk cycle exercise dug up from last summer enjoy
Just found some stuff I worked on last summer when introducing myself to Maya a simple vanilla walk cycle had trouble with textures to work on the fellow so a playblast had to do.
After animating the two bouncing balls with different weights, I wanted to push my knowledge a bit further and create an obstacle course for both balls to drop into and react with. I was going to have them on separate videos but I thought the reaction between the balls would make them appear more appealing and the weight would be brought across more convincingly.
Another little exercise animating a much heavier object a bowling ball, showing very different properties I really like theses exercise they helped me learn Maya straight away.
Animating in Maya is a huge step from animating in Max so in order to learn maya’s user interface and controls I completed some warm up exercises to get used to the unfamilar software.
